ABSTRACT

The purpose of this research was to determine the influence of the presence of oil palm plantations PIR SWADAYA on employment in an effort to create jobs.
This research is expected to contribute to policy or decision makers, especially in the context of the development of oil palm gardens PIR SWADAYA in order to create jobs
Research carried out at oil palm plantations (PIR SWADAYA) along the sides of the road Balikpapan-Samarinda-Bontang plant in 1996.
The method used in sampling is simple random sampling technique proportionally.
The data collected to calculate the number of workers in oil palm plantations PIR SWADAYA then carried out a compilation, comparison and processing of data by means of classification and tabulation to determine the amount of labor based groups: gender, age, education and region of origin as well as the amount of labor which can absorbed. Results of research on oil palm plantations PIR SWADAYA known that the characteristics of the labor is as follows:
a)      Base on age group, namely: 20-29 years = 5.56% = 24.54% 30-39 years, 40-49 years = 30.56% = 33.80% 50-59 years and 60 years and over = 5.56%.
b)      Based on gender, that is men and women amounted to 97.69% at 2.31%
c)       Based on education, that is not school by 12.04%, amounting to 48.61% SD, SMP amounted to 27.78%, SMA by 9.26% and amounted to 2.31% undergraduate.
d)      Based on the working area of origin, namely: the original of 1.85%, amounting to 6.48% Banjar, Jawa by 6.94%, amounting to 31.02% of West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi amounted to 43.06% and Toraja amounted to 10.65%

e)      Amount of labors absorbed in the activity on average per hectare at 4:44 people. Selannjutnya:

THE IMPLEMENTATION OF WEB-BASED FOREST COVERING
ACCURACY ANALYSIS INFORMATION SYSTEM AT

ABSTRACT
Forestry Department of The Republic of Indonesia through its Forest Planology Division has a duty to monitor national forest resources through remote sensing methodology. The media includes medium-resolution satellite image that used to check forest covering in all provinces. All planology division in all provinces will check forest area to ensure data validity and report all data to Foresty Department in Jakarta. There are some difficulties because the absent of information system to support data-collecting process and to calculate forest covering percentage.
This research was based on standard software engineering methodology that consist feasibility study, system analysis, system design, system development, and system implementation. Technologies that used are web-based technologies, which are PHP and MySQL. Development phase uses CodeIgniter framework and GroceryCRUD framework.

The outcome of this research is to implement web-based information system to support planology division in all provinces to help forest covering data-collecting process and to calculate forest covering ratio. Selanjutnya :

Noise Analysis of Coconut Grater Machine and The Effect in Market

ABSTRACT
Coconut grater machine generally used in Indonesia to change the size of coconut meat into finer sizes. The product usually used to make coconut milk that can be used in various Indonesian cuisine. Coconut grater machine which operated in several traditional markets in Samarinda has measured their intensity of the noise with Sound Level Meter, noise intensity average of the machine in minimum level = 74.25 dBA and in maximum level = 87.03 dBA. These noise level are still tolerated by the workers or the people around the machine because the operation time is not too long. But the impact are felt by 64.29% respondents, they feel disturbed because they couldn’t communicate normally (should be loudly to speak). Selanjutnya :

ABSTRACT

Synthetic pesticides utilization that is practically marked by farmers and plants lover to protect their plants from the pests attack, which have negative impacts for human and the environment. Direct impacts from the utilization of synthetic pesticide such as: soil pollution, water pollution and vegetable or crop’s contamination. As a solution, natural safe pesticides which made from natural materials around us should be developed again. In this research, natural pesticide is made from chili waste with added material: ginger extract (V1), galangal extract (V2), and onion extract (V3). Effectiveness test is estimated by the mortality percentage of cricket after they sprayed by the various pesticides. Generally, increasing concentration of pesticide will make the level of cricket mortality increase and faster too. The average of effectiveness of natural pesticides (all variant) for 20% concentration can kill 33.33% cricket population in ± 1 minute, for 50% concentration can kill 44.44% and for 80% the mortality percentage is 55.56%. Influence of Several Types of Manure and Foliar Fertilizer on Plant Growth

ABSTRACT

The celery is vegetables which mostly farmed in Hulu Sungai Tengah on the poor field ultisol soil produce the crops can not grow well, so it needs the addition of organic and inorganic fertilizer to enrich the fertility of the soil and the crop. This research were aimed to know the interaction, the best combination the manure and foliar fertilizer on the growth of the celery crops in the Ultisol, and to know the variety of the best manure and foliar fertilizer. The methods used in this research were the environmental design that was Randomized Completely Block Design and the treatment was Split Plot Design. The main plot was manure (A) and the sub-plot was foliar fertilizer (B). Each treatment had two repeatations, so there were 36 experimental units. The research result showed that the interaction between manure and foliar fertilizer had significant on the fresh weight of root, and
dry weight of the root at the age of 60 day after planting. At that age, the higher fresh weight of root was derived from the interaction between the cow manure and the Gardena foliar fertilizer D 2 g 1-1 and non significant with the intraction between the cow manure and the the Gardena foliar fertilizer D 1 g 1 -1) but high significant with the other interaction treatments, the higher dry weight of the root was derived from the interaction between cow manure and the Gardena foliar
fertilizer D 2 g 1-1. The higher gowth rate of the crop was derived from the interaction between the cow manure and the Gardena foliar fertilizer D 2 g 1-1. Selanjutnya :

ABSTRACT
Infiltration is the one of hydrological parameter balance. Infiltration capacity influenced by bulk density and shrub biomass. This research aimed to identify infiltration capacity in trial site and to explore its relationship with influencing parameters. The research benefit were basis of program trial site management. A hypothesis proposed in this research was biomass and
bulk density in influenced infiltration capacity.
This research was conducted in progeny trial site of teak, compartment 49a, BKPH Kedunggalar, KPH Ngawi, Unit II East Java. Infiltration campacity measurement in each observation site were conducted by employing Double Ring- Infiltrometer. The measured infiltration capacity was 30 samples. Data gathering was conducted by employing purposive sampling average
infiltration capacity was 30 mm/hour and classified into medium class. The model used to predicted infiltration capacity from regression analysis way Y = - 5, 464 + 0, 148 x1. Bulk density did not significantly influence value of significance wasconstant 0,05.

Infiltration capacity in each block measured was different. It was caused by difference of shrub condition. The availability of difference shrub condition caused different environmental condition in compartment 49a. Therefore teak trees growth was not purely caused by genetic factor. Infiltration capacity improvement could be conducted by defending shrub distribution. Selanjutnya :

ABSTRACT


Forest fires in Taman Nasional Kutai (TNK) may result in changes in vegetation cover and it was necessary monitoring. This study aims to monitor changes in vegetation cover using satellite images in 1990 and 1997 and to determine the pattern of change in vegetation cover in Taman Nasional Kutai (TNK) and the cause of the change. The research results can be seen the changes in land cover vegetation conditions that initially (in 1990) is dominated by primary forest turns into (in 1997) secondary forest and open land.
